Hellooo, get up Zhaneel. You shouldn't have had all of that wine my dear rider, your heads gonna hurt. "Oh lay off, Gribath I'm awake."
Zhaneel opened her eys and glared at her dragon. The blue/green arched her neck and her eyes whirled blues and greens. We have practice today ridermine, remember K'naret is the Weyrlingmaster now. Zhaneel groaned, at least gribath was big enough that she caught and slaughtered her own food, being an animal lover zhaneel hadn't particuarlly like that aspect of being a dragonrider. The old lessons are over, now we learn to fly, go between, and how to use firestone. "Joy, what fun." Zhaneel said sarcastically, the green/blue spread her sapphire wings and crooned. Just hurry up and get dressed the dragon paused Forshallen is waiting for you. " Evil beast!" Zhaneel yelled lobong a pillow at gribath, thedragon ducked and snorted. Your pardon, I am not. Laughing now Zhaneel changed out of her nightgown and into a grren tunic with dark brown breeches. Gribath left the barracks and Zhaneel followed soon after.
Once outside they saw the rest of the new riders milling about waiting for K'naret. Shal and his frosted blue/green Zurith came over, Gri and Zurith touched noses before ambling over to the weyrlake. Zhaneel and Forshallen followed, arms linked. A shadow fell over them and the huge form of Kweinalth backwinged to land near the group. Zhaneel surpressed a chuckle when poor K'naret was jolted forward on his bronzes back. " He really is a good rider Zhaneel" shal whispered in her ear. She smiled and nodded, " I know, Kweinalth must be in a fine mood, didn't Luna leave to go get Palan, Lel and Arwyn?" Shal nodded then they fell silent as K'naret lept down and the lesson started.
Several candlemarks later Zhaneel was hungerily devouring her lunch. Shal grinned and ate his food more slowly, his odd golden blue eyes never leaving her. " What?" she asked, noticing. he shook his head a took a drink of water. " Nothing, K'naret sure made up for that sloppy entrance today." Zhaneel nodded, "Didn't he though? I've never been so hungry or tired in my life!" Shal arched and eyebrow at her. " All your life?" She grinned, "Ok maybe not all of it but pretty close. Gribath is as tired as I am." Shal shrugged and glanced at his watch and then the Weyr's clock. He sighed. " Times almost up love, back to slavery for the two of us." As if on cue K'naret stood up and bellowed above the din of noise. " Back to practice dearlings, lets move!" Groans greeted his words and Luna shook her head laughing.
" I see Luna's back. but where is Palan and Arwyn?" Shal said to himself looking around. Zhaneel shrugged and picked up her bowl and mug. " Don't know but we can't be late, let's go."
