"And what, my dear Danath, do you intend to accomplish by signing up for a frenzy?"

But instead of being dignified an answer, all Van'el got in response from his dragon was an eye full of dark colored hide.

Danath!

Yes my rider?

Ah, now he got something, Danath was looking at him all wide-eyed innocence, his multi-colored eyes whirling in mischevious blue-greens.

"You know what, why do you want to fly in a frenzy? Of all things, what's wrong with a nice normal flight?"

What's nice and normal about me Val? I'm a night dragon.

Yawning hugely, seemingly unruffled by the prospect of his being 'abnormal', Danath rustled his large wings and shifted his weight to make himself a bit more comfortable in the unfamilar weyr given to him and his rider while they stayed at Fire Ridge Weyr after the sudden closing of Falas, the Weyr of his birth.

Plus the Midsummer Night's Dream is for dragons of the night, how much more 'nightly' can they get but with me? I also think it will do wonders for you and your anti-social mindset.

Van'el opened his mouth to respond, then snapped it shut, his silver eyes showing his confusion. Without looking he leaned back against the wall and ran a hand through his thick black hair, pondering his situation.

Come on Van'el, you know you want to. I'll tell you what, after this I'll leave you alone until Aura impresses.

Val snapped his head around to glare at his dragon. "What does she have to do with this!" But the night dragon only snorted.

You can't fool me ridermine, you like her, a lot in fact, and I can garrantee she'll impress.

Val just gave his dragon a whithering glare, then sighed and gave in. "Fine beast, we'll head over to Abri tomorrow alright? With thread over, I have a feeling Copper will be recruiting riders to go to that world Eien and help in the Wars. Perhaps we'll help with that later ok Danath, that will be the deal. I let you fly, and you help me on Eien."

The night dragon nodded and stood, stretching his translucent wings, then padded lightly over to the weyr entrance.

Then we'll send in our notice of departure to Shazi and head out to Abri.

"I thought I said tomorrow Danath..."

There's no time like the present ridermine
